Clinical Study on Catgut Embedment in Acupoint with Through-Acupoint Nine- Needle Combined with Pantoprazole for Refractory Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease
Abstract:Objective:To observe the clinical effect of catgut embedment in acupoint with through-acupoint nineneedle combined with Pantoprazole on refractory gastroesophageal reflux disease (RGERD). Methods: A total of 70 cases of RGERD patients treated at the Third Affiliated Hospital of Zhejiang Chinese Medical University from January 2020 to December 2022 were divided into the trial group and the control group according to the random number table method, with 35 cases in each group. The control group was given the oral administration of Pantoprazole Sodium Enteric-Coated Tablets, and the trial group was additionally treated with catgut embedment in acupoint with throughacupoint nine-needle based on the treatment of the control group. Both groups were treated for eight weeks and followed up for 12 weeks. Clinical effects, Reflux Disease Questionnaire (RDQ) scores, GERD-Health Related Quality of Life (GERD-HRQL) scores and safety profile were compared between the two groups. Results:The total effective rate in the trial group was 93.10% (27/29),higher than 66.67% (20/30) in the control group (P<0.05) . After treatment and during follow-up,RDQ scores, and GERD-HRQL scores in the two groups were reduced when compared with those before treatment, with the trial group showing lower scores than the control group at the same time points (P<0.05) . The safety profile was good. Conclusion: The catgut embedment in acupoint with through-acupoint nine-needle combined with Pantoprazole is more effective than Pantoprazole alone in improving clinical symptoms and reducing recurrence in the treatment of RGERD,with a high safety profile.
