Abstract：Objective：To observe the curative effect of the combination use of auricular point seed-pressing and acupoint application on irritable bowel syndrome with diarrhea （IBS-D） and negative emotion. Methods： A total of 72 patients with IBS-D of liver constraint and spleen deficiency type admitted to Haining People's Hospital from January to October 2024 were selected and divided into the conventional group and the trial group according to the random number table method， with 36 cases in each group. During the treatment， one case voluntarily withdrew， one case were dropped out，and one case lost follow-up in the trial group；two cases withdrew on their own and one case lost follow-up in the conventional group. A total of 33 patients were finally included in each group. The conventional group was treated with Live Combined Bifidobacterium and Lactobacillus Tablets combined with Pinaverium Bromide Tablets， and the trial group was treated with auricular point seed-pressing combined with acupoint application based on the treatment of the conventional group. The clinical effects and incidence of adverse reactions，and the changes of scores of IBS Symptom Severity Scale （IBS-SSS），Hamilton Anxiety Scale （HAMA），Hamilton Depression Scale （HAMD） and traditional Chinese medicine symptoms grading scale before and after treatment were compared between the two groups. Results：After treatment，the IBS-SSS scores of abdominal pain frequency，abdominal distension degree，abdominal pain degree， defecation satisfaction and life disturbance in the two groups were reduced when compared with those before treatment （P＜0.05）， and the above five scores in the trial group were lower than those in the conventional group （P＜0.05）. After treatment， the scores of HADS-A and HADS-D in the two groups were dwindled when compared with those before treatment，and the scores of HADS-A and HADS-D in the trial group were lower than those in the conventional group（ P＜0.05）. After treatment，the traditional Chinese medicine symptom grading scale scores of abdominal pain/abdominal distension， sloppy stool （frequency，characteristics） ， impatience and irritability， distension in the chest and ribside， torpid intake， fatigue and lack of strength， preference to sigh， and bowel movement and flatus in the two groups were decreased when compared with those before treatment （P＜0.05），and the above nine scores in the trial group were lower than those in the conventional group （P＜0.05）. After treatment， the total effective rate was 93.94%（31/33） in the trial group and 81.82%（27/33） in the conventional group，the difference being significant （P＜0.05）. The incidence of adverse reactions was 18.18%（16/33） in the conventional group and 15.15%（5/33） in the trial group， there being no significance in the difference （P＞0.05）. Conclusion： The combination use of auricular point seed-pressing and acupoint application has a great curative effect on IBS-D of liver constraint and spleen deficiency type， which can improve the clinical symptoms of patients， effectively mitigate the anxiety and depression with great safety.
