Abstract: Objective: To explore the medication rules of Professor XIAO Chun in treating headaches based on data mining technology. Methods:Effective outpatient headache case histories treated by Professor XIAO Chun from Shenzhen Bao'an Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital Group between January 1, 2023, and May 31, 2024 were collected. The Traditional Chinese Medicine Inheritance Support System (V2.5) was used to count the frequency of herbal use and their natures, flavors, and channel entries. Association rule analysis was employed to summarize commonly used herbal combinations, and cluster analysis was conducted to extract new prescriptions. Results:A total of 251 prescriptions involving 123 Chinese herbs with a total use frequency of 4 535 times were included. The top 10 herbs in terms of use frequency were Jujubae Fructus,Asari Radix et Rhizoma,Chuanxiong Rhizoma,Angelicae Dahuricae Radix, Aconiti Lateralis Radix Praeparata, Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma, Achyranthis Bidentatae Radix, Saposhnikoviae Radix, Gastrodiae Rhizoma and Piper wallichii Caulis et Folium. Jujubae Fructus-Asari Radix et Rhizoma and Angelicae Dahuricae Radix-Chuanxiong Rhizoma were the top two most frequently used herbal combinations. The association rule with the highest confidence was that of Asari Radix et Rhizoma,Aconiti Lateralis Radix Praeparata and Jujubae Fructus. Based on association rules and cluster analysis, eight pairs of high-frequency herbal combinations were obtained, and three new prescription combinations were screened (Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma, Cinnamomi Ramulus, Ostreae Concha, Salviae Miltiorrhizae Radix et Rhizoma and Phellodendri Chinensis Cortex; Zingiberis Rhizoma, Cinnamomi Ramulus, Angelicae Sinensis Radix, Mume Fructus, Gastrodiae Rhizoma, Saposhnikoviae Radix and Achyranthis Bidentatae Radix;Pinelliae Rhizoma,Aucklandiae Radix,Perillae Folium,Aconiti Lateralis Radix Praeparata and Tetrapanacis Medulla).
