Abstract:Objective:To observe the clinical effect of Dabuyuan Decoction and Tongyu Decoction combined with western medicine on polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) of kidney deficiency and blood stasis type, and its effects on the levels of follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH), luteinizing hormone (LH), and testosterone (T) in serum. Methods:A total of 100 cases of patients with PCOS of kidney deficiency and blood stasis type, who were treated at Shunde Hospital of Guangzhou University of Chinese Medicine and Guangzhou Zengcheng Maternal and Child Health Hospital from January 2022 to December 2023, were selected and divided into the observation group and the control group according to the random number table method, with 50 cases in each group. The control group was given routine western medicine treatment, including the oral administration of Ethinylestradiol Cyproterone Acetate Tablets, and the observation group was additionally treated with Dabuyuan Decoction combined with Tongyu Decoction based on the treatment of the control group. Both groups were treated for three menstrual cycles. Traditional Chinese medicine(TCM) syndrome scores, and changes in the levels of FSH,LH,LH/FSH,and T in serum before and after treatment as well as the clinical effects were evaluated in the two groups. Results: After treatment, the total effective rate was 98.00% (49/50) in the observation group and 84.00% (42/50) in the control group, with a significant difference between the groups (P<0.05). After treatment, the TCM syndrome scores in the two groups were decreased when compared with those before treatment (P<0.05), and the score in the observation group was lower than that in the control group (P<0.05). After treatment, the levels of FSH,LH,LH/FSH,and T in the two groups were reduced when compared with those before treatment (P<0.05), with the observation group showing lower levels of LH, LH/FSH ratio, and T than the control group (P<0.05). However, there was no significant difference in FSH levels between the two groups (P>0.05). Conclusion: Dabuyuan Decoction and Tongyu Decoction combined with Ethinylestradiol Cyproterone Acetate Tablets has a positive effect on improving TCM syndromes and sex hormone levels, and promoting ovarian function recovery in patients with PCOS of kidney deficiency and blood stasis type.
