Abstract: To introduce Professor DU Tinghai's clinical experience in the treatment of gestational hypertension based on qi,blood, and water theory. Professor DU Tinghai's approach to treating gestational hypertension is rooted in the unique physiological processes of pregnancy and the underlying pathogenesis. He proposes that the main pathogenesis of gestational hypertension includes "qi constraint transforming into fire and consuming liver yin, leading to yang hyperactivity; qi and blood deficiency causing stasis and obstructing the clear orifices; and kidney water imbalance leading to water-damp obstructing the clear orifices." His treatment emphasizes regulating qi, resolving stasis, and promoting water metabolism, with a focus on individualized treatment. Regulating qi involves harmonizing qi without damaging it and ensuring fetal safety; resolving stasis involves invigorating blood without removing it and dispelling wind to resolve stasis; promoting water metabolism involves treating water retention by strengthening the kidneys and ensuring fetal safety. The key is to regulate qi and soothe the liver, treat blood and strengthen the spleen, and treat water and consolidate the kidneys, while also dispelling wind and using mild nature medications to ensure fetal safety.
