Abstract：This paper summarizes and introduces Professor HE Shidong's clinical experience in flexibly utilizing insect medicinals to treat chronic kidney disease. Professor HE proposes that "spleen-kidney deficiency and blood stasis and qi stagnation in the kidney collaterals" are the fundamental pathological mechanisms of chronic kidney disease. In clinical practice，based on the pathological factors of wind pathogensis，water-damp，damp-heat，and blood stasis， insect medicinals can be used according to syndrome differentiation to exert effects of dispelling wind， promoting diuresis， eliminating damp-heat， and resolving blood stasis and meridians obstruction； their property of "deeply searching and meticulously eliminating pathogens" is employed to loosen and eliminate the root of the disease，thereby enhancing the efficacy of strengthening the spleen and nourishing the kidney.
