Abstract: Interdisciplinary study and research enable students to step out of the constraints of traditional disciplinary frameworks, fostering critical thinking, systematic thinking, and creative thinking. In the rapidly changing knowledge-based economy, individuals with interdisciplinary competencies can more quickly adapt to new environments, technologies, and challenges. Currently, the interdisciplinary integration of Chinese medicine disciplines is a hot topic of concern in society and the industry. However, its research foundation is weak, and it is still in the initial stage of development in terms of institutional mechanisms, academic research, allocation of academic resources, talent cultivation, and disciplinary evaluation, necessitating urgent enhancements in interdisciplinary Chinese medicine research. In the context of the new era, modern scientific interdisciplinarity is taken as a new requirement for the inheritance and innovative development of Chinese medicine. New strategies are adopted to build on strengths and improve weaknesses, implementing new tasks to cultivate interdisciplinary and compound talents and fostering the interdisciplinary construction of Chinese medicine universities and colleges.
