Abstract： Objective： To observe the clinical effect of Chinese medicine fumigation on lower extremity arterial disease in diabetic patients （LEADDP） of blood stasis obstructing the collaterals type. Methods ： A total of 116 LEADDP patients of blood stasis obstructing the collaterals type admitted into the Department of Endocrinology， Lishui People 's Hospital from February 2022 to February 2024 were selected and divided into the treatment group and the control group according to the random number table method，with 58 cases in each group. After exclusion，55 cases were finally included into the treatment group and 53 in the control group. Both groups were given basic treatment of diabetes， the control group was additionally treated with pancreatic kallidinogenase and Beraprost Sodium， and the treatment group was additionally treated with Huayu Tongbi Prescription fumigation based on the treatment of the control group. After eight weeks of treatment， the clinical effects and the changes in traditional Chinese medicine（TCM） syndrome scores of the main symptoms，lower-extremity microcirculation，ankle brachial index （ABI） and instep skin temperature before and after treatment were compared between the two groups. Results： The total effective rate was 89.09%（ 49/55） in the treatment group and 73.58%（ 39/53） in the control group，the difference being significant（ P＜ 0.05）. After treatment，the scores of lower-extremity pain，lower-extremity numbness，lower-extremity coldness and limp in the two groups were reduced when compared with those before treatment （P＜0.05），and the TCM syndrome scores of the main symptoms in the treatment group were lower than those in the control group （P＜0.05）. After treatment， the maximum blood flow velocity of posterior tibial artery （left side and left side） and dorsalis pedis artery （left side and right side） in the two groups were elevated when compared with those before treatment （P＜0.05）， and the above indexes in the treatment group were higher than those in the control group （P＜0.05）. After treatment， the vascular diameters of posterior tibial artery（ left side and left side） and dorsalis pedis artery（ left side and right side） in the two groups were up-regulated when compared with those before treatment （P＜0.05），and the above indexes in the treatment group were higher than those in the control group （P＜0.05）. After treatment， the ABI and instep skin temperature in the two groups were increased when compared with those before treatment （P＜0.05），and the ABI and instep skin temperature in the treatment group were higher than those in the control group （P＜0.05）. Conclusion： Based on western medicine，Huayu Tongbi Prescription fumigation can improve the curative effect on LEADDP of blood stasis obstructing the collaterals type，which can relieve the symptoms of lower extremity，improve the lower extremity microcirculation and the degree of microangiopathy.
