Abstract：Objective：To observe the clinical effect of Chinese medicine foot bath combined with Levothyroxine Tablets on early pregnancy hypothyroidism of kidney yang deficiency type. Methods： A total of 80 cases of patients with early pregnancy hypothyroidism of kidney yang deficiency type treated at Dongyang Maternal and Child Health Hospital from January to December 2023 were randomly divided into the control group and the treatment group using a random number table method，with 40 cases in each group. The control group was treated with Levothyroxine Tablets， and the treatment group was treated with Chinese medicine foot bath combined with Levothyroxine Tablets. Both groups were treated for 12 weeks. Compared the clinical efficacy， traditional Chinese medicine（TCM） syndrome scores， thyroid function indicators [free triiodothyronine（ FT3），thyroid stimulating hormone（ TSH），and free thyroxine（ FT4）]， and adverse pregnancy outcomes between the two groups. Results：After 12 weeks of treatment，the total effective rate was 92.50% （37/40） in the treatment group，which was higher than that of 77.50% （31/40） in the control group，the difference being significant （P＜0.05）. The TCM syndrome scores in both groups were decreased when compared with those before treatment，and the TCM syndrome scores in the treatment group were lower than those in the control group， differences being significant （P＜0.05）. The levels of serum FT3 and FT4 in both groups were increased when compared with those before treatment，and the levels of serum FT3 and FT4 in the treatment group were higher than those in the control group， differences being significant （P＜0.05）. The serum TSH levels in both groups were decreased when compared with those before treatment，with the treatment group having lower serum TSH level than the control group， differences being significant （P＜0.05）. During follow-up until the end of pregnancy， the incidence of adverse pregnancy outcomes was 5.00% （2/40） in the treatment group， which was lower than that of 20.00% （8/40） in the control group， the difference being significant （P＜0.05）. Conclusion： Based on Levothyroxine Tablets， the additional application of Chinese medicine foot bath can enhance the efficacy of treating early pregnancy hypothyroidism of kidney yang deficiency type，promote thyroid function recovery，and reduce adverse pregnancy outcomes.
