Abstract: Professor QIN Danping believes that chronic atrophic gastritis (CAG) is a condition characterized by deficiency-excess complex. In clinical practice, treatment can be approached from three aspects:spleen deficiency, toxin accumulation, and phlegm blended with blood stasis. The primary treatment principles are to fortify the spleen, resolve toxins, expell phlegm, and dispel stasis. Professor QIN has developed the standardized formula "Jianpi Jiedu Prescription" for the treatment of CAG,which emphasizes the specific properties of the herbs used and the importance of pairing and triplet herbs. While strengthening the spleen,it also enhances the functions of clearing heat, resolving toxins, dissolving phlegm, invigorating blood and dissolving stasis. The clinical efficacy of this approach is significant, reflecting the traditional Chinese medicine principle of "controlling the development of existing disease and seeking the root to treat disease". A clinical case is presented to illustrate and support Professor QIN Danping's approach and experience in treating CAG.
