Clinical Study on Dushen Decoction and Wujia Shenghua Capsules Combined with Routine Western Medicine for Postpartum Hemorrhage Caused by Uterine Atony
Abstract: Objective: To observe the curative effect of Dushen Decoction and Wujia Shenghua Capsules combined with routine western medicine on postpartum hemorrhage caused by uterine atony and its impact on uterine involution. Methods: This retrospective study selected clinical data from 85 cases of puerpera with postpartum hemorrhage caused by uterine atony at Daishan First People's Hospital between April 2022 and April 2024. The patients were divided into the routine treatment group (41 cases) and the Chinese medicine treatment group (44 cases) based on the hemostatic treatment method. The routine treatment group was treated with Oxytocin combined with Misoprostol, and the Chinese medicine treatment group was additionally given the oral administration of Dushen Decoction and Wujia Shenghua Capsules based on the treatment of the routine treatment group. Both groups were treated for seven days. Clinical effects were evaluated in the two groups; the coagulation factors [prothrombin time (PT), activated partial thromboplastin time (APTT) , thrombin time (TT)], fibrinolytic function indexes [platelet count (BPC) , hemoglobin (Hb)],and traditional Chinese medicine syndrome scores before and after treatment and uterine involution were compared between the two groups. Results:The total effective rate in the Chinese medicine treatment group was 93.18% (41/44),higher than 70.73% (29/41) in the routine treatment group (P<0.05). The duration of lochia in the Chinese medicine treatment group was shorter than that in the routine treatment group, and the amount of bleeding at 72 hours after delivery, the rate of uterine subinvolution and the rate of slightly hyperechoic intrauterine foci in the uterus were lower than those in the routine treatment group, differences being significant (P<0.05). After treatment, traditional Chinese medicine syndrome scores in the two groups were decreased when compared with those before treatment( P<0.05),and the Chinese medicine treatment group had lower scores than the routine treatment group( P< 0.05). After treatment, the PT, APTT, and TT in the two groups were shorter when compared with those before treatment (P<0.05), with the Chinese medicine treatment group showing shorter time than the routine treatment group (P<0.05). After treatment, the levels of BPC and Hb in the two groups were increased when compared with those before treatment (P<0.05), with the Chinese medicine treatment group showing higher levels than the routine treatment group (P<0.05). Conclusion: The combination of Dushen Decoction and Wujia Shenghua Capsules with routine western medicine is effective in treating postpartum hemorrhage caused by uterine atony. It can effectively shorten the duration of vaginal bleeding, reduce the amount of bleeding, improve coagulation function, and aid in uterine recovery.
