Abstract:Objective:To analyze the point selection rules of CHEN Lei's acupuncture in treating facial paralysis based on data mining technology. Methods:Effective prescriptions for peripheral facial paralysis treated or guided by Professor CHEN Lei at Ningbo Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine from June 2022 to December 2023 were collected. The treatment cases were entered into the Traditional Chinese Medicine Inheritance Support Platform V3.0, and data mining techniques such as cluster analysis, association rules analysis, and network topology were used to analyze the point selection rules. Results : A total of 200 acupuncture prescriptions were included , involving 108 acupuncture points with a total frequency of 2 359 times. The selection of points was mainly focused on the face (local areas), combined with distal points, and supplemented with points for regulating the mind. The selected points covered the fourteen main channel and extra points, with the foot yangming stomach channel, the foot taiyang bladder channel, and the hand taiyang large intestine channel being the most frequently used. In the acute phase, the foot taiyang bladder channel was predominantly used, while in the stable, recovery, sequelae, and near-recovery phases, the yangming channel was mainly used. The longer the disease course, the more distal the yangming channel and points selected. Conclusion: CHEN Lei's acupuncture for facial paralysis primarily focuses on local point selection, combined with distal points, following the treatment principle of regulating both the body and mind, and selecting points based on disease stages and syndrome differentiation.
