Introduction of FENG Shulan's Experience in Treating Chronic Nonspecific Low Back Pain with Nine-Needle Acupotomy Loosening Technique for Lumbar and Abdominal Regions
Abstract: Chronic nonspecific low back pain (CNLBP) is a disease characterized by low back pain lasting for more than 12 weeks with an undefined etiology. Based on theoretical guidance such as "Patients with yang diseases have a bent-back posture and cannot bend forward, while patients with yin diseases cannot look upward" and "When the governor vessel is affected by illness, treat the governor vessel;the treatment focuses on the area above the bones, and for severe cases, it involves the region below the navel, " Professor FENG Shulan, in combination with the main symptoms of CNLBP patients, including pain upon bending and rising from a seated position, proposed a treatment concept of "removing pathogenic factors from the lumbar region first, supplementing deficiency in the abdominal region later, and treating both regions simultaneously" during clinical acupotomy treatment. Through the combined application of acupotomy therapy to both the anterior and posterior regions, the goals of removing pathogenic factors, supplementing deficiency, unblocking collaterals and correcting deformities to stop pain were achieved.
