Abstract:Objective:To observe the efficacy of auricular point seed-pressing combined with point application in the treatment of pediatric diarrhea. Methods:A total of 90 children with diarrhea who visited the pediatric department of People's Hospital of Anji from January 2023 to June 2024 were selected and randomly divided into the control group and the treatment group by random number table method, with 45 cases in each group. Both groups received conventional symptomatic treatments such as probiotics, correction of water and electrolyte imbalances, and antiinfection therapy. The treatment group additionally received auricular point seed-pressing and point application. The clinical efficacy and time to clinical recovery were compared between the two groups,as well as changes in traditional Chinese medicine syndrome scores before and after treatment. Results:The total effective rate of clinical efficacy was 97.78% (44/45) in the treatment group, significantly higher than that of 82.22% (37/45) in the control group (P< 0.05). After five days of treatment, the scores of main symptoms, secondary symptoms, and total scores of traditional Chinese medicine syndromes in both groups were decreased when compared with those before treatment (P<0.05), and such scores in the treatment group were lower than those in the control group (P<0.05). The time for stool consistency to thicken, abdominal pain to disappear, and stool frequency to return to normal in the treatment group were all shorter than those in the control group (P<0.05). Conclusion:Auricular point seed-pressing combined with point application is effective in treating pediatric diarrhea, which can significantly alleviating clinical symptoms and shortening the time to clinical recovery.
