Observation on Therapeutic Effect of Huoxue Jiangya Prescription in Treating Early Renal Damage Due to Hypertension and Its Impact on NGAL and U-mALB Levels
Abstract: Objective: To observe the clinical effect of Huoxue Jiangya Prescription in the treatment of hypertension patients with early renal damage and its impact on levels of serum neutrophil gelatinase-associated lipocalin (NGAL) and urine microalbumin (U-mALB). Methods:A total of 81 hypertension patients with early renal damage diagnosed and treated in the Department of Cardiology of Lishui Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine from January 2022 to June 2023 were enrolled and randomly divided into the intervention group (40 patients) and the control group (41 patients) using a random number table method. The control group was treated with Allisartan Isoproxil Tablets, while the intervention group received additional Huoxue Jiangya Prescription based on the treatment of the control group. Both groups underwent 12 weeks of treatment, and comparisons were made between the two groups in terms of clinical effects, as well as changes in traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) syndrome scores and levels of NGAL, and U-mALB before and after treatment. Results: The total effective rate was 85.0% (34/40) in the intervention group and 63.4% (26/41) in the control group, the difference being significant between the two groups( P<0.05). After treatment,the TCM syndrome scores were decreased in both groups when compared with those before treatment (P<0.05),and the scores in the intervention group were lower than those in the control group (P< 0.05). After treatment, the levels of serum NGAL and U-mALB were decreased in both groups when compared with those before treatment (P<0.05),and the levels of both indicators in the intervention group were lower than those in the control group (P<0.05). Conclusion: The combination of Huoxue Jiangya Prescription and Allisartan Isoproxil Tablets in the treatment of hypertension patients with early renal damage can improve clinical effects, effectively ameliorate TCM syndromes,and alleviate renal damage caused by hypertension.
