Abstract: Objective: To observe the clinical effect of point application with Cuchang Wentong Prescription based on midnight-noon ebb-flow in promoting post-cesarean rehabilitation. Methods: A retrospective analysis was conducted on the clinical data of 80 parturients who underwent cesarean section at the Department of Obstetrics, Zhoushan Hospital, Zhejiang Province, from June 2023 to June 2024 were divided into the control group and the observation group according to different treatment methods, with 40 cases in each group. Both groups received Enhanced Recovery After Cesarean (ERAC) measures, while the observation group additionally received the point application with Cuchang Wentong Prescription based on midnight-noon ebb-flow. Both groups were continuously intervened for five days. The recovery time of gastrointestinal function was observed, and the Visual Analogue Scale (VAS) scores of pain and uterine fundal height were assessed on the 1st,3rd,and 5th days postoperatively. The occurrence of complications such as postoperative nausea and vomiting (PONV) and abdominal distension was recorded, and the incidence rates and severity of PONV were evaluated. Results:The first exhaust, defecation time, and bowel sound recovery time in the observation group were shorter than those in the control group (P<0.05). Both VAS scores and uterine fundal height showed progressive declines with extended treatment duration (P<0.05). On the 3rd day postoperatively, the VAS scores and uterine fundal height in both groups were decreased when compared with those on the 1st day (P<0.05). On the 5th day postoperatively, the VAS scores and uterine fundal height in both groups were decreased when compared with those on the 3rd day (P<0.05). The VAS scores and uterine fundal height in the observation group on the 3rd and 5th days were lower than those in the control group at the same time points (P<0.05). On the 5th day postoperatively, the severity of PONV in the observation group was milder than that in the control group (P<0.05). The incidence rates of PONV and abdominal distension, and the total complication rate in the observation group were lower than those in the control group (P<0.05). Conclusion: The point application with Cuchang Wentong Prescription based on midnight-noon ebb-flow in post-cesarean parturients can promote the recovery of gastrointestinal function, alleviate postoperative pain, facilitate uterine involution, and reduce the occurrence of complications such as PONV and abdominal distension.
