Abstract: This article summarizes and introduces the clinical experience of renowned Chinese medicine practitioner LIU Bingfan in treating chronic cough. LIU Bingfan advocates the holistic treatment principle of "treating the disease by treating the person, " emphasizing the importance of the spleen and stomach in visceral syndrome differentiation. In medication,he focuses on the integration of the five zang organs,adjusts treatment plans based on the triple energizers theory, and considers the impact of seasonal changes on cough. He emphasizes individualized treatment,selecting appropriate medicines according to different constitutions and etiologies. Additionally,he values the role of dietary therapy in treatment,advocating for the protection of the spleen and stomach with every prescription, centering on the spleen-stomach perspective. This approach reflects the principles of syndrome differentiation and treatment in Chinese medicine,highlighting the synergistic effect of medicines and the body´s natural healing abilities.
