Abstract： This article introduces Professor WEI Chenggong´s clinical experience in treating patients with cough after pulmonary nodule surgery by the syndrome-targeted differentiation. Professor WEI Chenggong believes that the pathogenesis of cough after pulmonary nodule surgery in the Lingnan region is characterized by four syndromes： deficiency， cold， dampness， and stasis. For deficiency， the treatment focuses on tonifying without neglecting to secure the body´s vital energy；for cold，it addresses the cold without excessive warming and tonifying；for dampness， it targets dispelling dampness with an emphasis on the spleen； and for stasis， it involves removing stasis while also tonifying qi and nourishing the blood. This syndrome-targeted approach in clinical practice has yielded good results.
