Exploration on Medication Rules of Chinese Medicine in the Treatment of Xerophthalmia After Operation for Senile Cataract Based on Data Mining Techniques
Abstract:Objective:To explore the medication rules of Chinese Medicine in the treatment of xerophthalmia after operation for senile cataract based on Traditional Chinese Medicine Inheritance Computing System (TCMICS)V3.5. Methods: Prescriptions for the treatment of xerophthalmia after operation for senile cataract were retrieved from the China National Knowledge Infrastructure (CNKI),Wanfang Data Knowledge Service Platform(Wanfang),and China Science and Technology Journal Database(VIP) from the establishment of the databases up to October 31,2024. The TCMICS V3.5 was used to analyze the frequency of medication use, natures and flavors, channel entry, association rules, and clustering. Results:A total of 198 prescriptions involving 243 different Chinese medicines were included. High-frequency Chinese medicines included Chrysanthemi Flos, Angelicae Sinensis Radix, Poria, Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma, and Rehmanniae Radix. The medicinal natures were mainly cold and warm, with flavors primarily sweet, bitter, and pungent. The channel entries were mainly liver, lung, and spleen meridians. Clustering analysis identified five groups of herb combinations. Conclusion:Chinese medicine treatment for xerophthalmia after operation for senile cataract primarily focuses on nourishing the liver and kidneys, clearing heat and improving vision, regulating qi and invigorating blood, and strengthening the spleen and draining dampness. The main herbal compositions are Danggui Shaoyao Powder and Qiju Dihuang Pills. This suggests that the main pathogenesis of xerophthalmia after operation for senile cataract involves wind-heat in the liver and lung with dampness affecting the eyes, and qi stagnation with blood stasis.
