Exploration of the Mechanism of Chinese Medicine in the Treatment of Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease Complicated with Osteoporosis from the Perspective of Spleen Based on Intestinal Flora
Abstract: Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and osteoporosis often coexist, and their co-morbid mechanisms are drawing the attention of researchers. Intestinal flora plays a key role in the pathogenesis of COPD and osteoporosis, and can influence disease progression through the “intestine-lung axis” and “intestine-bone axis”. Therapy of invigorating the spleen and dispelling dampness in Chinese medicine can effectively regulate intestinal flora, thus alleviating the symptoms of COPD and osteoporosis through such mechanisms. This paper discussed the potential effects of intestinal flora on COPD complicated with osteoporosis and the feasibility of treating such disease from the perspective of the spleen in Chinese medicine,so as to provide a new approach and method for the treatment of COPD complicated with osteoporosis by combining intestinal flora with the spleen in Chinese medicine.
