Abstract：From years of clinical experience，Professor YANG Shudong has concluded that the main pathogenesis of chronic kidney disease （CKD） is kidney deficiency. This condition is further complicated by the patient's unhealthy lifestyle，living environment，and dietary habits，which can lead to endogenous water-dampness，phlegm and fluid， static blood and turbid toxins etc.， thereby exacerbating kidney damage. In terms of treatment， Professor YANG Shudong generally adopts the therapeutic principle of supplementing kidney and dispelling pathogen （including supplementing kidney yang，nourishing kidney yin，benefiting kidney qi，activating kidney blood，facilitating kidney water， and lowering turbid toxins）. He has formulated his own prescription for this purpose， namely Bushen Quxie Formula. In clinical practice，this formula，when modified according to individual patient needs，has been found to be effective in treating CKD.
