Clinical Study on Modified Gegen Heisu Decoction Combined with Western Medicine for Thin Endometrial Infertility of Kidney-Deficiency and Blood Stasis Type
Abstract:Objective:To observe the clinical efficacy of modified Gegen Heisu Decoction combined with western medicine in treating thin endometrial infertility (TEI) of kidney-deficiency and blood stasis type. Methods:A total of 108 patients TEI of with kidney-deficiency and blood stasis type treated at the Department of Chinese Medicine Gynecology, Wenzhou TCM Hospital of Zhejiang Chinese Medical University from February to December 2023 were selected and divided into a study group and a control group, with 54 cases in each group, using a random number table method. The control group was given oral administration of Estradiol Tablets/Estradiol Dydrogesterone Tablets, while the study group received modified Gegen Heisu Decoction in addition to the treatment of the control group. The treatment was continued for three menstrual cycles or until pregnancy was confirmed. Before and after treatment, the endometrial thickness, endometrial morphology, and uterine hemodynamics indexes [uterine artery pulsatility index (PI) and resistance index (RI)], and traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) syndrome scores were compared between the two groups. And the pregnancy rates within six months after treatment were compared. Results: After treatment, the endometrial thickness was increased in both groups compared to before treatment (P<0.05), with the study group achieving a thicker endometrium than the control group (P<0.05). The endometrial morphology was improved in both groups compared to before treatment (P<0.05),with the study group showing better endometrial morphology than the control group (P<0.05). The PI and RI values of uterine artery and TCM syndrome scores were decreased in both groups compared to before treatment (P<0.05),with the study group achieving lower PI,RI values of uterine artery, and TCM syndrome scores than the control group (P<0.05). The pregnancy rate in the study group was 59.61% (31/ 52), higher than that in the control group at 38.46% (20/52) (P<0.05). Conclusion: Modified Gegen Heisu Decoction combined with western medicine can thicken endometrium, improve endometrial morphology, regulate uterine hemodynamics, and increase the pregnancy rate in patients with TEI of kidney-deficiency and blood stasis type.
