Abstract:Hyperplasia of mammary glands (HMG) is a common breast disease in female, which belongs to the category of mammary hyperplasia in Chinese medicine. Its etiology is emotional internal damage, liver-spleen disharmony, binding of phlegm and blood stasis or disharmony of the Thoroughfare Vessel and Conception Vessel. The key to the pathogenesis of HMG lies in the abnormal circulation of qi, blood, fluid and humor, qi movement stagnation, phlegm coagulation and blood stasis in the body. The acupuncture and moxibustion based on syndrome differentiation and treatment described in this article is based on the theory of qi, blood, fluid and humor. The therapeutic principles focus on soothing the liver and regulating the spleen, harmonizing the Thoroughfare Vessel and Conception Vessel, and unblocking local qi and blood circulation.
