Abstract: Obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) is a chronic disease that affects multiple systems and can lead to decreased respiratory function. Currently, continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP) therapy is commonly used, but it has limitations, numerous side effects, and poor compliance. Chinese medicine lung rehabilitation for OSA primarily employs the integrated approach of treating both symptoms and disease. This approach tailors treatment based on the severity of the disease, focusing on both "symptoms" and "disease" from different perspectives. It combines conventional western medical treatments with various Chinese medicine therapies, including internal herbal decoctions, external treatments, and traditional exercises. The goal is to improve the symptoms and objective indicators of OSA patients, enhance cardiopulmonary function, reduce the severity of the condition, and leverage the synergistic effects of integrated Chinese and western medicine. This comprehensive approach aims to develop the optimal diagnostic and treatment plan for patients, ultimately achieving the simultaneous treatment of both symptoms and disease.
