Abstract：Zanthoxyli Pericarpium is a traditional dual-purpose medicinal and edible herb that has been used in health and wellness applications in China for over 2 000 years. However，in recent years，its use has been primarily limited to food and seasoning，leading to a narrow range of products and hindering the development of the Zanthoxyli Pericarpium industry. This paper aims to examine the historical health and wellness functions and applications of Zanthoxyli Pericarpium，wellness，and to broaden its applications in this field，thereby supporting the development of the Zanthoxyli Pericarpium industry.
