Abstract: This article introduces Professor REN Qingling's clinical experience in treating premature ovarian insufficiency (POI) based on LI Dongyuan's fire-original qi incompatibility theory. Building on Chinese medicine master XIA Guicheng's academic framework of the heart-kidney-uterus axis, Professor REN integrates LI Dongyuan's theory to propose that the pathogenesis of POI arises from deficiency of spleen-stomach leading to insufficient of original qi, and dysfunction of pivot mechanisms resulting in exuberant heart fire, and subsequent disharmony between the heart and kidney. This comdition ultimately disrupts the heart-kidney-uterus axis. For treatment, Professor REN advocates a synergistic approach combining three methods: supplementing middle qi, clearing heart fire, and nourishing kidney water, which collectively improve ovarian function.
