Abstract:This paper introduces LIANG Bo's clinical experience in treating constipation of qi and yin deficiency type by methods of nourishing yin, moistening dryness, tonifying qi, and strengthening spleen. Director LIANG Bo believes that treating constipation should not solely rely on purgative medications; it is essential to address both the branch and the root cause, treating the root and branch simultaneously. Therefore, the comprehensive approach of nourishing yin, moistening dryness, tonifying qi, and strengthening the spleen is employed. This involves the oral administration of Yiqi Runchang Soft Extract combined with catgut embedment in acupoint. Catgut embedment in acupoint activates specific neural pathways, promotes intestinal peristalsis, and improves intestinal function, thereby addressing the branch. Meanwhile, the oral administration of Yiqi Runchang Soft Extract fundamentally addressing the root cause of qi and yin deficiency by nourishing yin to moisten dryness, tonifing qi to strengthen spleen. The combination of these two methods not only quickly alleviates symptoms but also sustainably improves the patient's constitution, achieving both symptomatic and root treatment.
