Abstract: Objective: To explore the acupoint selection rules for acupuncture in the rehabilitation treatment of post-stroke foot drop based on data mining techniques. Methods: Relevant literature on acupuncture treatment for post-stroke foot drop was retrieved from major databases, including the China National Knowledge Infrastructure (CNKI), Wanfang Data, China Biomedical Literature Database (CBM), and PubMed. The search period covered the establishment of each database up to December 2024. Acupuncture prescriptions were summarized, and the acupoints, acupoint usage frequencies, channel entries, and distribution locations were collected and organized. SPSS Statistics 24.0 was used for hierarchical cluster analysis of high-frequency acupoints, and a dendrogram was created. The Apriori algorithm in SPSS Modeler 18.0 was used for association rule analysis of the included acupoints. Results:A total of 64 articles were included, comprising 64 acupuncture prescriptions involving 77 acupoints, with a total usage frequency of 501 times. The top five acupoints used for post-stroke foot drop were Zusanli( ST36),Yanglingquan( GB34), Jiexi (ST41),Sanyinjiao (SP6),and Taichong (LR3). The most commonly used meridians were the foot-yangming stomach channel, the foot-shaoyang gallbladder channel, and the foot-taiyang bladder channel. The specific acupoints involved are mainly He acupoints, eight confluent acupoints and Yuan acupoints in the five acupoints. The selection of acupoints is mainly based on the lower limbs. In terms of acupoint compatibility, the most commonly used combination of acupoints is Zusanli (ST36)-Yanglingquan (GB34). The top 22 high-frequency acupoints can be divided into four effective clusters. Conclusion: The selection of acupoints for acupuncture and moxibustion treatment of post-stroke foot drop is diverse, with the main meridians being yang meridians. The core prescription is centered around Zusanli (ST36)-Yanglingquan (GB34)-Jiexi (ST41)-Taichong (LR3)- Sanyinjiao (SP6),frequently using specific acupoints to adjust the functions of the viscera and bowels, reflecting the treatment principles of unblocking meridian and collateral, harmonizing qi and blood, and nourishing tendons and sinews.
