Abstract：To explore the Chinese medicine pathogenesis of premature ovarian failure and the treatment method of acupuncture from the perspective of yin and yang based on the theory of “yang governs qi- transformation，yin governs substance-formation”. The core pathogenesis of premature ovarian failure is the yin-yang imbalance， with yin-yang insufficiency being the root， and phlegm-damp， blood stasis and internal constraint of yang qi being the symptom. Acupuncture for premature ovarian failure should focus on harmonizing yin and yang，supplemented by promoting the circulation of uterine meridian. In clinical practice， it is necessary to differentiation the syndrome of yin and yang， flexibly select acupoints and acupuncture methods，guide yin from yang and yang from yin，and regulate both yin and yang to achieve the curative effect of restoring regular menstruation and the ovarian function.
