Abstract: Based on the theory of "diseases of the two yang originating from the heart and spleen, " this paper discusses the ideas and methods of acupuncture treatment for polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) from the perspective of "yangming-heart and spleen-uterus." It is believed that the main causes of this disease are deficiency of yangming earth, obstruction between the heart and spleen, combined with excess pathogens such as phlegm-damp and blood stasis accumulating in the ovary, and disharmony of qi and blood in the thoroughfare, conception and governor vessels, ultimately leading to uterine malnutrition and symptoms such as irregular menstruation and infertility. In clinical diagnosis and treatment, syndrome differentiation is combined with meridian differentiation, emphasizing both nourishing and regulating blood. The treatment focuses on boosting yangming, unblocking the heart and regulating the spleen, and nourishing the uterus. First, acupoints along the conception vessel and foot-yangming stomach meridian are primarily selected to replenish body fluids and blood;second, acupoints along the governor vessel,hand-jueyin pericardium meridian, and hand-taiyin spleen meridian are used to regulate the mind and blood; finally, local acupoints in the lower abdomen are chosen to nourish the uterus and unblock qi-blood flow, thereby improving symptoms in PCOS patients and achieving simultaneous regulation of body and mind.
