Observation on Curative Effect of Baduanjin Combined with Pulmonary Rehabilitation Training on Patients with Stable Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease
Abstract:Objective:To observe the effects of Baduanjin combined with pulmonary rehabilitation training on clinical symptoms, lung function, and prognosis in patients with stable chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). Methods: A total of 150 cases of patients with stable COPD, treated at Jiaxing Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine from May 2021 to November 2023,were randomly divided into the control group and the observation group,with 75 cases in each group,using the coin toss method. Both groups received standard treatments including anti-infection,bronchodilation,and expectoration;the control group underwent pulmonary rehabilitation training, and the observation group received additional Baduanjin training. The intervention lasted for three months. After intervention,the COPD Assessment Test(CAT)scores,modified Medical Research Council(mMRC)dyspnea scale scores, six-minute walking distance (6MWD), Borg scores, and lung function indicators [the ratio of forced expiratory volume in the first second to forced vital capacity(FEV 1 /FVC),the percentage of peak expiratory flow to the predicted value(PEF),and maximal mid-expiratory flow rate(MMFR)] in the two groups were compared before and after intervention. Results:After treatment,CAT and mMRC scores in the two groups were decreased when compared with those before treatment(P<0.05),with the observation group showing lower scores than the control group(P< 0.05). After treatment,6MWD levels in the two groups were increased when compared with those before treatment and Borg scores were decreased when compared with those before treatment(P<0.05);the observation group had longer 6MWD and lower Borg score than the control group(P<0.05). After treatment,the levels of FEV 1 /FVC,PEF,and MMFR in the two groups were increased when compared with those before treatment(P<0.05),with the observation group showing higher levels than the control group(P<0.05). Conclusion: Baduanjin combined with pulmonary rehabilitation training,in addition to conventional western medical treatment,can effectively alleviate clinical symptoms ofstable COPD,improve exercise endurance,enhance lung function,and thereby improve overall prognosis.
