Abstract:Objective:To analyze the point selection patterns of Professor YE Xinmiao's acupotomy treatment for knee osteoarthritis(KOA)based on the sinew theory through data mining. Methods:Case data of KOA patients treated by Professor YE from January 2020 to January 2025 using sinew theory-guided acupotomy were collected to establish a prescription database. SPSS Statistics 27 and SPSS Modeler 18.0 were used for frequency statistics of acupotomy points, distribution analysis, association rule mining analysis, and cluster analysis. Results: A total of 235 acupotomy prescriptions involving 28 operating points(total frequency:1 245)were included. The top five most frequently used points were: lateral head of quadriceps femoris, medial head of quadriceps femoris, tibial tuberosity, medial collateral ligament, and pes anserinus tendon. The acupotomy points were predominantly distributed in the anterior and medial knee regions. Association rule analysis showed the strongest correlation was tibial tuberosity - inferior patellar border - midpoint of patellar ligament. Cluster analysis revealed two effective clusters. Conclusion:Professor YE's sinew theory-based acupotomy for KOA primarily targets anterior and medial knee regions, reflecting his emphasis on functional integrity of anterior knee extensor apparatus, tensile stress changes in medial collateral ligament and pes anserinus tendon, and tension degree of popliteal muscle in posterior knee.
