Abstract: Postcholecystectomy syndrome(PCS)primarily involves the liver, gallbladder, spleen, and stomach. Its pathogenesis is closely related to the gallbladder qi ascending in spring. After cholecystectomy, the ascending function of gallbladder qi is compromised, leading to liver-gallbladder qi stagnation,spleen-stomach disharmony, gallbladder-stomach incoordination, and liver-spleen imbalance, manifesting as abnormal bile excretion and gastrointestinal dysfunction. Based on the theory of gallbladder qi ascending in spring, Professor LIAN Zhiming emphasizes restoring the ascending function of gallbladder qi to regulate the qi movement of liver-gallbladder-spleen- stomach systems and harmonize qi-blood:soothing the liver and promoting gallbladder to uplift yang qi,softening the liver and strengthening the spleen to harmonize qi-blood, regulating the stomach and warming the gallbladder to normalize qi movement, and using modified Wendan Decoction, with significant clinical efficacy.
