Abstract：Objective：To observe the clinical effect of fire dragon cupping combined with neck muscle stretching therapy on neck type cervical spondylosis（NTCS）with cold-damp and stasis obstruction syndrome. Methods：A total of 104 cases of patients with NTCS of cold-damp and stasis obstruction type who were treated at Hangzhou Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine from February 2023 to May 2024 were selected and divided into the trial group and the control group according to the random number table method，with 52 cases in each group. The control group was treated with neck muscle stretching therapy，and the trial group was additionally treated with fire dragon cupping based on the treatment of the control group. Both groups were treated for four weeks. Clinical effects and safety were compared between the two groups； the changes in Visual Analogue Scale（VAS） scores for pain， Neck Pain Questionnaire （NPQ）scores， range of motion（ROM）of the neck， Neck Disability Index（NDI）scores， and traditional Chinese medicine syndrome scores were compared before and after treatment. Results：After treatment，the total effective rate was 95.83%（46/48）in the trial group，higher than that of 81.25%（39/48）in the control group（P＜0.05）. The scores of VAS， NPQ and NDI for neck pain and the traditional Chinese medicine syndrome scores in the two groups were decreased when compared with those before treatment（P＜0.05）， with the trial group showing lower scores than the control group（P＜0.05）. ROM of the neck in the two groups was increased when compared with that before treatment （P＜0.05），with the trial group showing greater ROM than the control group（P＜0.05）. No adverse event occurred in either group during the study. Conclusion： Fire dragon cupping combined with neck muscle stretching therapy for NTCS with cold-damp and stasis obstruction syndrome can effectively reduce pain，relieve symptoms，improve cervical spine function and strengthen clinical effect，with good safety.
