Abstract: In traditional Chinese medicine(TCM), the theory of "body-spirit holism" posits that female stress urinary incontinence(SUI) is a disorder affecting both the "body" and the "spirit". Its pathogenesis is primarily attributed to the brain, kidney, and the conception and governor vessels. Guided by the therapeutic principle of simultaneous regulation of body and spirit, this approach advocates a comprehensive treatment strategy using the "dynamic-static mind-regulating method." Treatment involves acupuncture at head points and lumbosacral points of the conception vessel,as well as points of the governor vessel,to regulate the spirit and consolidate the body. Concurrently, practices such as Dantian breathing techniques, pelvic floor muscle training, and Mawangdui Daoyin exercises are prescribed to guide the body and anchor the spirit. Furthermore, the article emphasizes the importance in clinical acupuncture practice of prioritizing needling sequence, depth, and the application of "alternative communication" point combinations to enhance the therapeutic value of acupuncture in treating female SUI.
