Clinical Study on Prevention and Treatment of Postoperative Urinary Retention After Hemorrhoid Surgery by Thumb-Tack Needling Combined with Abdominopelvic Muscle Exercise
Abstract: Objective: To observe the clinical effect of thumb-tack needling combined with abdominopelvic muscle exercise on the prevention and treatment of postoperative urinary retention after hemorrhoid surgery. Methods:A total of 60 cases of patients who underwent mixed hemorrhoid surgery under combined spinal-epidural anesthesia at the Anorectal Department of the First Affiliated Hospital of Guangzhou University of Chinese Medicine from October 2022 to March 2023 were selected and divided into the control group and the observation group according to the random number table method, with 30 cases in each group. The control group received conventional postoperative treatment, and the observation group received thumb-tack needling combined with abdominopelvic muscle exercise. Postoperative first urination sensation scores, first urination duration scores, abdominal symptom scores, time to first urination, urine volume, residual urine volume, and catheterization rates were compared between the two groups. Results: The observation group showed better scores in first urination sensation, first urination duration, and abdominal symptoms compared to the control group, with a significant difference(P<0.05).The observation group had a shorter time to first urination, less residual urine volume, and a larger urine volume at first urination compared to the control group, with significant differences(P<0.05).The catheterization rate in the observation group was 6.7%(2/30),compared to 46.7%(14/30)in the control group, with a significant difference(P<0.05).Conclusion:Thumb-tack needling combined with abdominopelvic muscle exercise can effectively shorten the time to first urination after surgery, alleviate abdominal symptoms, reduce the catheterization rate, and alleviate postoperative urinary discomfort in patients.
