Abstract: Objective: To summarize the medication patterns and academic thoughts of ZHANG Jinfeng in treating polycystic ovary syndrome(PCOS) based on data mining, thus providing guidance for clinical practice. Methods:PCOS prescriptions from ZHANG Jinfeng's outpatient clinic between December 2021 and December 2024 were collected through the Weining Health Outpatient Doctor Workstation System of Shanxi Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital's electronic medical record system and compiled into an Excel database. Statistical analysis was performed on herbfrequency,properties,channeltropism,andtherapeuticeffects.Coreherbassociations,herbpairs,andtriple-herb combinations were analyzed using the Apriori algorithm in IBM SPSS Modeler, while cluster analysis was conducted with OriginPro software. Results: A total of 110 prescriptions involving 157 Chinese herbs with 1 518 applications were analyzed. Predominant herb flavors were bitter, sweet, and acrid; natures were mainly warm, cold, and neutral; primary channel distributions were liver, spleen, lung, and kidney meridians. Therapeutic effects were dominated by tonifying deficiency, activating blood circulation to resolve stasis, and clearing heat. High-frequency herb association analysis identified 26 herb pairs and 30 triple-herb combinations. Cluster analysis revealed five herb clusters reflecting distinct treatment principles:eliminating dampness and resolving phlegm with qi-moving and blood-activating herbs; tonifying qi and raising yang with wind-dispersing and pain-relieving herbs;regulating menstruation and relieving pain with heat-clearing and blood-cooling herbs;resolving stasis to stop bleeding with liver-calming and mind-tranquilizing herbs; supplementing qi and blood with emission-arresting and leukorrhea-reducing herbs. Conclusion: ZHANG Jinfeng's treatment of PCOS emphasizes holistic syndrome differentiation, focusing on kidney tonification as the root approach while addressing phlegm, dampness, and stasis as secondary manifestations. Bitter-sweet spleen-strengthening herbs are preferentially selected, with dampness-eliminating and phlegm-resolving herbs often combined with qimoving and blood-activating herbs. Dosages are generally substantial due to patients' heavy weight.
