Abstract: Objective: To observe the clinical effect of the combination use of modified Wuling San and Solifenacin Succinate Tablets on overactive bladder (OAB) after transurethral resection of the prostate (TURP). Methods:A total of 168 patients with OAB after TURP admitted to Zhengzhou Central Hospital from February 2020 to March 2024 were selected and divided into the western medicine group, the Chinese medicine group and the combination group by the random number table method, with 56 cases in each group. The western medicine group was treated with Solifenacin Succinate Tablets, the Chinese medicine group was treated with modified Wuling San,and the combination group was treated with modified Wuling San combined with Solifenacin Succinate Tablets. The clinical effects, clinical symptoms, urinary flow rate parameters [urine volume(VV),average urinary flow rate(Qave)and maximum urinary flow rate(Qmax)], International Prostate Symptom Score(IPSS), Overactive Bladder Symptom Score(OABSS)and Quality of Life(QOL)Score, urinary biomarker levels [nerve growth factor(NGF),brain-derived neurotrophic factor(BDNF)and NGF/creatinine(Cr)in urine] and the incidence of adverse reactions were compared among the three groups. Results: After treatment, the total effective rate was 94.64%(55/56)in the combination group, higher than that of 78.57%(44/56)in the western medicine group and 75.00%(42/56)in the Chinese medicine group, differences being significant(P<0.05);there was no significant difference being found in the comparison of the total effective rate between the western medicine group and the Chinese medicine group(P>0.05). After treatment, the times of urgent urination, micturition, bladder spasm and nocturia in the three groups were reduced when compared with those before treatment(P<0.05),and the times of the above four indexes in the combination group were less than those in the western medicine group and the Chinese medicine group(P<0.05);there were no significant differences being found in the comparisons of the above four indexes between the western medicine group and the Chinese medicine group(P>0.05). After treatment, the levels of Qave,VV and Qmax in the three groups were elevated when compared with those before treatment(P<0.05),and the levels of above three urinary flow rate parameters in the combination group were higher than those in the western medicine group and the Chinese medicine group(P<0.05);there were no significant differences being found in the comparisons of the levels of above three urinary flow rate parameters between the western medicine group and the Chinese medicine group(P>0.05). After treatment, the IPSS,OABSS and QOL scores in the three groups were decreased when compared with those before treatment(P<0.05),and the above three scores in the combination group were lower than those in the western medicine group and the Chinese medicine group (P<0.05);there were no significant differences being found in the comparisons of the above three scores between the western medicine group and the Chinese medicine group(P>0.05). After treatment, the levels of NGF, BDNF and NGF/Cr in the three groups were reduced when compared with those before treatment(P<0.05),and the levels of the above three urine biomarkers in the combination group were lower than those in the western medicine group and the Chinese medicine group(P<0.05);there were no significant differences being found in the comparisons of the above three indicator levels between the western medicine group and the Chinese medicine group(P>0.05). During the treatment, the incidence of adverse reactions was 10.71%(6/56)in the combination group,7.14%(4/56)in the western medicine group, and 1.79%(1/56)in the Chinese medicine group, there being no significance in the difference(P> 0.05). Conclusion:The combination use of modified Wuling San and Solifenacin Succinate Tablets has a significant curative effect on OAB after TURP,which can relieve the clinical symptoms and improve the quality of life by regulating the neurotrophic factors with good safety.
