Abstract: Objective: To observe the clinical efficacy of Sangsu Zhike Decoction combined with Cefprozil in treating acute bronchitis with phlegm-heat obstructing the lung syndrome and its impact on serum inflammatory factor levels. Methods: A total of 86 patients with acute bronchitis treated at Huzhou TCM Hospital Affiliated to Zhejiang Chinese Medical University from August 2022 to August 2024 were selected and divided into a western medicine group and a combined treatment group, with 43 cases in each group, using the random number table method. The western medicine group received oral Cefprozil treatment, while the combined treatment group received Sangsu Zhike Decoction combined with oral Cefprozil treatment. Clinical efficacy was compared between the two groups,as well as changes in symptom disappearance time, pulmonary function, and inflammatory factor indicators [serum C-reactive protein (CRP),interleukin-8(IL-8),and haptoglobin(Hp)levels] before and after treatment. Results:After treatment, the total effective rate in the combined treatment group was 95.35%(41/43),which was higher than that in the western medicine group at 79.07%(34/43),with a statistically significant difference between the two groups(P<0.05). After treatment, the combined treatment group showed earlier disappearance of fever, cough, and pulmonary rales compared with the western medicine group, with statistically significant differences(P<0.05). After treatment, the tidal volume increased in both groups compared to before treatment(P<0.05), with the combined treatment group achieving higher values than the western medicine group(P<0.05);the respiratory rate and peak time ratio decreased in both groups compared to before treatment(P<0.05),with the combined treatment group having a lower respiratory rate and peak time ratio than the western medicine group(P<0.05). After treatment, the levels of CRP,IL-8,and Hp decreased in both groups compared to before treatment(P<0.05), with the combined treatment group achieving lower levels of these indicators than the western medicine group(P<0.05). Conclusion: Sangsu Zhike Decoction combined with Cefprozil in treating acute bronchitis with phlegm-heat obstructing the lung syndrome can further enhance therapeutic effects, improve pulmonary function, reduce inflammatory responses, and accelerate disease recovery.
