Clinical Study on Acupuncture at Baliao Points and Umbilical Moxibustion Combined with Biofeedback Electric Stimulation for Urinary Incontinence After Cerebral Apo⁃ plexy of Kidney Qi Deficiency Type
Abstract: Objective: To observe the clinical effect of acupuncture at Baliao points and umbilical moxibustion combined with biofeedback electric stimulation in the treatment of urinary incontinence after cerebral apoplexy of kidney qi deficiency type. Methods:A total of 84 cases of patients with urinary incontinence after cerebral apoplexy of kidney qi deficiency type who were treated at Hangzhou Rehabilitation Hospital from January to December 2024 were divided into the control group and the trial group according to the random number table method, with 42 cases in each group. The control group received biofeedback electric stimulation therapy, and the trial group received acupuncture at Baliao points and umbilical moxibustion in addition to the biofeedback electric stimulation therapy. Both groups were treated for four weeks. Clinical efficacy,International Consultation on Incontinence Questionnaire-Short Form(ICI-Q-SF)scores, urodynamic indicators, and incidence of adverse reactions were compared between the two groups. Results:After four weeks of treatment, the total effective rate was 95.24%(40/42)in the trial group, higher than that of 80.95%(34/42) in the control group(P<0.05). ICI-Q-SF scores in all dimensions(leakage amount, leakage frequency, impact on daily living)and total scores in the two groups were significantly decreased when compared with those before treatment (P<0.05), with the trial group showing lower scores than the control group(P<0.05). Maximum urethral closure pressure(MUCP),maximum bladder capacity(MBC),and abdominal leak point pressure(ALPP)in the two groups were increased when compared with those before treatment(P<0.05),with the trial group showing higher values than the control group(P<0.05). The incidence of adverse reactions was 11.90%(5/42)in the trial group and 7.14%(3/42) in the control group, with no significant difference between the two groups(P>0.05). Conclusion: The additional application of acupuncture at Baliao points and umbilical moxibustion based on biofeedback electric stimulation therapy for urinary incontinence after cerebral apoplexy of kidney qi deficiency type can enhance the curative effect, contribute to recovery, and improve urodynamic indicators, with high safety and reliability.
