Introduction of WEI Aisheng's Experience in Treating Climacteric Syndrome with the Method of Boosting Qi and Nourishing Exhausted Blood and Nourishing Yin and Enriching Water
Abstract: Professor WEI Aisheng believes that when a person is over fifty years old, with spleen and kidney deficiency, damage to the thoroughfare and conception vessels, qi deficiency and blood exhaustion, and liver and kidney yin deficiency and floating yang are the pathological characteristics of climacteric syndrome. Inspired by ZHANG Xichun's Shiquan Yuzhen Decoction,Professor WEI developed the treatment principles of boosting qi and nourishing exhausted blood,and nourishing yin and enriching water. He discovered that this prescription can address the complex pathogenesis of climacteric syndrome,providing supplementation without dryness,moistening without greasiness,and simultaneously benefiting the spleen and stomach while unblocking blood vessels. Accordingly,Professor WEI analyzed this prescription from the perspective of prescription methods and herbal composition, and modified the medicines as needed,achieving a definite curative effect in treating this condition.
