Abstract:This article introduces Professor ZHAO Hengxia's clinical experience in treating benign thyroid nodules based on the six constraints theory. Professor ZHAO proposes that the occurrence and development of benign thyroid nodules are closely related to the six constraints, with the core pathogenesis summarized as "liver depression and qi stagnation as the onset, binding of phlegm and blood stasis as the manifestation, and yin deficiency and fire depression as the chronic transformation." She created the experienced prescription Jialiu Prescription, which primarily focuses on soothing the liver, strengthening the spleen, resolving phlegm, and removing blood stasis. The prescription also pays attention to the potential development of "fire depression,"integrating clearing, eliminating, tonifying, and regulating into one prescription. It regulates the liver and spleen, treats qi and blood simultaneously, and combines dynamic and static approaches, embodying the principle of "dissipating the six constraints and interrupting the transmission and transformation. " Clinical practice also considers the humid and hot climate of Lingnan region and the patient's constitution, resulting in good curative effects.
