Clinical Study on Oral Administration of Modified Shenling Baizhu San Combined with Xiaoxun Decoction Ultrasound-Mediated Drug Delivery for Post-Endoscopic Resection of Colonic Polyps with Spleen Deficiency and Dampness Excess Syndrome
Abstract: Objective: To observe the clinical efficacy of oral administration of modified Shenling Baizhu San combined with ultrasound-mediated drug delivery of Xiaoxun Decoction in patients with colonic polyps of spleen deficiency and dampness excess tpye after endoscopic resection. Methods:A total of 124 cases of patients with colonic polyps of spleen deficiency and dampness excess type after endoscopic resection in the Department of Gastroenterology of Zhoushan Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine from February 2023 to January 2025 were selected and divided into the control group and the combination group using the random number table method, with 62 cases in each group. The control group was treated with modified Shenling Baizhu San,and the combination group was treated with ultrasoundmediated drug delivery of Xiaoxun Decoction based on the control group. Both groups were treated for two courses. The perioperative indicators(duration of hospital stay, recovery time of bowel sounds), traditional Chinese medicine syndrome scores, serological indicators [prostaglandin E2(PGE2),interleukin(IL)-6,and IL-8],and occult blood in stool were compared between the two groups. Results:The hospitalization time of the combination group was shorter than that in the control group(P<0.05). There was no significant difference in the recovery time of bowel sounds between the two groups(P>0.05). After treatment, the traditional Chinese medicine syndrome(abdominal distension and poor appetite, unsmooth diarrhea, mucous bloody stool, loose stool)scores and total scores in the two groups decreased compared with those before treatment(P<0.05). The traditional Chinese medicine syndrome scores and total scores in the combination group were lower than those in the control group(P<0.05). The levels of serum PGE2,IL-6 and IL-8 in the two groups decreased compared with those before treatment(P<0.05),and the levels of PGE2,IL-6 and IL-8 in the combination group were lower than those in the control group(P<0.05). At 5 and 10 days after operation, the positive rate of fecal occult blood in the combination group was lower than that in the control group at the same period (P<0.05). At 15 days after operation, there was no significant difference in the positive rates of fecal occult blood between the two groups(P>0.05). Conclusion:Oral administration of modified Shenling Baizhu San combined with ultrasound-mediated drug delivery of Xiaoxun Decoction can reduce wound inflammation and promote postoperative recovery in patients with colonic polyps of spleen deficiency and dampness excess type after endoscopic resection, demonstrating good therapeutic effects.
