Abstract: Objective: To observe the clinical effect of the combination of Lianqin Qingre Liniment and Petrolatum on preventing incontinence associated dermatitis in patients in Intensive Care Unit(ICU). Methods:The clinical data of 89 ICU patients admitted to Lishui People's Hospital from August 2023 to August 2024 were retrospectively analyzed. According to the different preventive nursing methods, the above patients were divided into the combination group(46 cases)and the control group(43 cases). The control group was given conventional nursing and smeared with Petrolatum, and the combination group was additionally given Lianqin Qingre Liniment based on the treatment in the control group. The risk of incontinence associated dermatitis [Perineal Assessment Tool(PAT)], the average number of fecal incontinence per day,the classification of Bristol Stool Scale (BT),incidence, occurrence time, severity [IAD Severity Instrument (IADS)] of incontinence associated dermatitis, skin lesion grading and satisfaction rate of the relatives were compared between the two groups. Results:After treatment, the scores of each dimension by PAT in the two groups were lower than those before treatment(P<0.05), and the above scores in the combination group were lower than those in the control group(P<0.05). After treatment, the average number of fecal incontinence per day in the combination group was (2.31±0.89) times, which was less than that of (3.64 ± 1.14) times in the control group, and the difference between the two groups was statistically significant (P<0.05) . After treatment, the BT classification of the combination group was superior to that of the control group, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05). After treatment, the incidence of incontinence associated dermatitis was 26.09% (12/46)in the combination group and 46.51%(20/43)in the control group, with a statistically significant difference (P<0.05). The average occurrence time of dermatitis was(5.14±1.31)days in the combination group, and was(3.02± 0.89)days in the control group, with a statistically significant difference(P<0.05). After treatment, the IADS scores of the two groups were higher than those before treatment(P<0.05),while the IADS score of the combination group was lower than that of the control group(P<0.05). After treatment, the skin lesion grading of the combination group was superior to that of the control group, with a statistically significant difference(P<0.05). After treatment, the satisfaction rate of the relatives was 95.65%(44/46)in the combination group, and 81.40%(35/43)in the control group, with a statistically significant difference(P<0.05). Conclusion:The combination of Lianqin Qingre Liniment and Petrolatum can effectively reduce the incidence of incontinence associated dermatitis in ICU patients, protect the perineal and perianal skin, relieve the skin lesion, and improve the satisfaction rate of patients' relatives.
