Abstract: As the core pathological mechanism of metabolic syndrome, insulin resistance has become a key direction in the research of modern metabolic diseases. With the transformation of the medical model from disease treatment to preventive medicine, the focus of disease prevention and treatment is gradually shifting to early intervention in metabolic disorders, making the effective prevention and control of metabolic syndrome through intervening insulin resistance a frontier field of current research. Recent studies have shown that there is a significant correlation between the traditional Chinese medicine(TCM) theory of "liver stagnation" pathogenesis and the biological mechanism of insulin resistance, among which the "soothing the liver" treatment method shows unique advantages in regulating glucose and lipid metabolism and improving insulin sensitivity. Based on the classic TCM theory of "liver and large intestine being connected",this study innovatively integrates the modern research results of regulation of intestinal flora homeostasis and insulin resistance improvement, aiming to provide a new theoretical basis for TCM prevention and treatment strategies of metabolic syndrome.
