Abstract:Irritable bowel syndrome(IBS),as one of the most common functional gastrointestinal disorders,is characterized by recurrent abdominal pain, changes in bowel habits, and possible mental and psychological abnormalities. It is currently believed that IBS mainly involves abnormal interaction of the gut-brain axis, which leads to gastrointestinal motility disorders, impaired immune barrier, and changes in intestinal permeability. Psychological factors are key factors that induce and aggravate IBS symptoms. Based on the traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)theory of "liver and large intestine being interconnected", this paper explores the role of the liver-large intestine interaction mechanism in TCM pathogenesis and modern medical pathogenesis,in order to provide a reference for understanding the nature of IBS.
