Abstract：This article introduces Professor LIN Guohua's clinical experience in treating herpes zoster in refractory areas with Lingnan fire needling therapy. Lingnan fire needling is a distinctive therapy developed by integrating the regional characteristics of the Lingnan region and the constitutional characteristics of its people. Guided by his academic philosophy of meridian-acupoint techniques and considering the climatic features of the Lingnan region，Professor LIN Guohua bases his acupoint selection rules on disease and meridian differentiation. Utilizing the therapeutic effects of Lingnan fire needling—warming，unblocking，tonifying，clearing，and resolving—he achieves favorable outcomes in treating herpes zoster in refractory areas such as the head，face，limbs，and perineal area.
