Abstract: Abdominal obesity is an important risk factor for a variety of chronic diseases, including diabetes, hypertension,coronary heart disease,cholelithiasis,and gout,and it poses a serious threat to people's physical and mental health. Chinese medicine therapy,with its core principles of holistic regulation and syndrome differentiation and treatment,has significant advantages in the prevention and treatment of abdominal obesity and is increasingly favored by the public and clinical practitioners. This paper,based on the Chinese medicine theory of channels,focuses on the physiological functions of the channel of transportation and transformation of water and food, channel of fluid metabolism,channel of blood and qi circulation,to explore their pathological connections with abdominal obesity and to elaborate on the syndrome differentiation and treatment strategies for abdominal obesity,providing references for the clinical prevention and treatment of abdominal obesity with Chinese medicine.
