Abstract: Objective: To analyze the medication rules of Chinese medicine enema in the treatment of pelvic inflammatory disease (PID) based on data mining. Methods:Literature on Chinese medicine enema for PID published between 2004 and 2024 was retrieved from the China National Knowledge Infrastructure (CNKI), Wanfang Data Knowledge Service Platform (Wanfang),and China Science and Technology Journal Database (VIP). WPS Office 12.1 was used for statistical analysis of syndrome types and medication frequency. SPSS Modeler 18.0,Cytoscape 3.9.1,and SPSS Statistics 27.0 were employed to perform association rule analysis and cluster analysis on the prescription data. Results: A total of 674 compound prescriptions were included, involving 233 Chinese medicines, with a total frequency of 6 717. The main syndrome types identified in the included literature were dampness-heat obstruction syndrome and qi stagnation and blood stasis syndrome. The high-frequency Chinese medicines were Patriniae Herba, Sargentodoxae Caulis, Taraxaci Herba, Paeoniae Radix Rubra, Salviae Miltiorrhizae Radix et Rhizoma, Curcumae Rhizoma, Sparganii Rhizoma, Corydalis Rhizoma, Violae Herba, and Persicae Semen. The top five categories of included Chinese medicines were mainly those with the effects of heat-clearing,blood-activating and stasis-resolving, qi-regulating, diuresis-inducing and dampness-percolating, and blood-tonifying. High-frequency herbs were primarily those with the effects of heat-clearing and toxin-removing, heat-clearing and blood-cooling, and bloodactivating and stasis-resolving. Property, flavor, and meridian tropism analysis indicated that the flavors were mainly bitter, pungent, and sweet;the properties were mainly cold, warm, and neutral;and the primary meridian tropisms were the liver, spleen, heart, stomach, and large intestine meridians. Association rule analysis yielded 7 twoitem association rules and 50 three-item association rules. The core Chinese medicine combination was Paeoniae Radix Rubra-Sargentodoxae Caulis-Taraxaci Herba-Patriniae Herba-Salviae Miltiorrhizae Radix et Rhizoma. Cluster analysis ultimately identified 7 closely associated Chinese medicine combinations, uncovering 1 new prescription and 5 herb pairs for clinical reference. Conclusion: PID is closely related to dampness, heat, and stasis. Enema prescriptions with Chinese medicine primarily consist of heat-clearing and toxin-removing herbs and blood-activating and stasisresolving herbs, often combined appropriately with qi-regulating or dampness-percolating and diuresis-inducing herbs to enhance the effects of moving qi and promoting diuresis. For cases complicated by deficiency syndrome types, tonic herbs can be added to support healthy qi.
