Abstract: Objective: To analyze the medication rules of kidney-tonifying therapy for polycystic ovary syndrome( PCOS) -induced infertility based on data mining technology. Methods:Clinical research papers on kidneytonifying therapy for PCOS-induced infertility were retrieved from China National Knowledge Infrastructure(CNKI), Wanfang Data Knowledge Service Platform (Wanfang), and China Science and Technology Journal Database (VIP) databases. Databases for "Chinese medicine prescriptions" and "high-frequency herb dosages" were established. The frequency of herb use, dosage, properties, flavors, and meridian tropisms were statistically analyzed. Association rules and cluster analyses were conducted on high-frequency herbs to explore medication rules. Box plots were used to analyze the dosages of high-frequency herbs to explore the distribution patterns of prescription dosages. Heatmaps were employed to analyze differences in the frequency of high-frequency herb use within the kidney-tonifying therapy. Results: The analysis yielded 175 prescriptions and 127 Chinese medicines, identifying 34 high-frequency herbs primarily categorized by efficacy as kidney-tonifying herbs and blood-activating herbs. The primary properties, flavors, and meridian tropisms of high-frequency herbs were neutral, sweet, and liver meridian, respectively, followed by warm, pungent, and kidney meridian. Association rule analysis of high-frequency herbs showed that the pair with the highest support was Rehmanniae Radix Praeparata-Cuscutae Semen, and Rehmanniae Radix Praeparata-Angelicae Sinensis Radix. The pair with the highest confidence was Eucommiae Cortex-Cuscutae Semen. Dosage analysis revealed that Cuscutae Semen was the kidney-tonifying herb with the highest dosage;Salviae Miltiorrhizae Radix et Rhizoma was the blood-activating herb with the highest dosage;and the dosages of kidney-tonifying herbs were generally larger than those of blood-activating herbs. Heatmap analysis of high-frequency herbs in the kidney-tonifying therapy showed that the most frequently used therapeutic method was kidney-tonifying and blood-activating. Conclusion: The primary medication selection for PCOS-induced infertility focuses on kidney-tonifying and blood-activating, while it is also necessary to strictly maintain the balance between yin and yang, combine static and dynamic, and incorporate auxiliary effects such as phlegm resolution, spleen fortification, and liver soothing.
